We Are Stronger Together

Call it brotherhood, sisterhood or maybe, Yatrihood? Without a doubt, there is a sense of belonging with us fellow Yatris.

No matter where we travel in the country, there is always a Yatri we can call upon for help or maybe just to have a cup of coffee.

It never feels like you’re a stranger to another Yatri, even when you might have met them for the first time. That’s the power of a bond created by an intense 15 day travel across the country with some amazing people. And a common purpose to build our enterprises that can have an impact.

We all know how, by the end of the 15 day Yatra, our perspectives have broadened by the discussions with fellow Yatris from around the country, looking at the changing landscapes across the nation that is so different at every junction, yet so similar.

Jagriti Yatra has been like a flowing river, it’s always been giving, and it is upto us Yatris how much we can receive.

#PayItForward | For The Yatris, By The Yatris

Stories Of  A Few Yatris

It is amazing how this small episode in our lives, called Jagriti Yatra can send a ripple effect in time and create impact in the lives of Yatris for years to come. Here are few such example,

Smriti is one of the founding members and trustees of Plustrust, an organisation which offers fellowships and guidance to entrepreneurs and young people working on inclusive education, animal welfare and social environmental projects.

She is also an integral part of Project Uger which is tackling the issues of women’s health and employment, both at once. Uger is involved in spreading awareness about menstruation, creating eco-friendly sanitary pads and employing economically-lower sections of women by training them to stitch pads and making their living.

Gunvant Jain | Changing How After School Coaching Works

Founder & Director | Shikshalaya

Yatri 2009

During his years at IIT (Madras), Gunvant Jain had noticed that students were constantly under immense pressure from their parents and teachers to perform well academically. This made him wonder if he could do something to improve the students’ lives. With this thought in mind, he embarked on the Jagriti Yatra in 2009, where he came in contact with many like-minded people and inspiring role models and it proved to be the spark he needed.

After the Yatra, he got accepted for the Teach For India fellowship which was the exposure he needed to pave the path towards his entrepreneurial dream of helping students become self-dependent and empowered.

Today, Gunvant Jain is the founder and director of Shikshalaya, an active learning center which delivers on everything that he had envisioned to do. Shikshalaya provides after-school academic support to students by presenting them with concepts in an innovative way. They not only work with students but also convene with the parents regularly to make them aware of their child’s progress and needs.

Gunvant’s unique enterprise is changing the way after- school coaching classes function and how they impact the students.
